@sansjuan Don't recall the temperatures that day; but, we do get the ice fog phenomena quite a bit here in Fairbanks. It can make road travel somewhat precarious but it does make for exotic photos! :-)
@pdulis Thank you, Peter! I haven't yet tried to capture the aurora with this new camera of mine... I have hopes I can get a few decent ones, even though my camera is a simple one. The shots I got of the moon with its craters gives me hope! We see the northern lights quite a lot here in the winter, although they are usually at their best around 2 a.m. and when it is well below freezing. Not a time when I am normally awake!
