Teddy is a music lover and sat down at the grand piano to play today (well, in all honesty, it is a music box lol) Photographer and her husband discovered a new instrument while online yesterday (pan- flutes) and are now thinking they would like to have one and learn to play. I'd never heard of (or heard) a pan flute before. What a beautiful sound it makes - I think you should definitely give it a try - something you'd both enjoy I imagine. Your shot is awfully cute, too.
I have an absolute passion for music boxes. I still have the one my Dad made me when I was a little girl. The tune still plays when you wind it up and the ballerina still dances. Lovely image
@milaniet Thank you, Milanie! We have been reading about what it takes to learn to play the pan-flute... Wondering if either of us have the breath it would take and the perseverance to learn. Guess some folks haven't even been able to get even a sound out of one after trying for three hours! lol We listened to a lot of beautiful pan-flute music last evening, and my husband said he thinks it is now his favorite instrument. :-)
@amyk Thank you, Amy! I wanted to do it with a reflection but wasn't sure I could accomplish it without my reflection also showing up in my bedroom mirror. lol I was satisfied with the result, though.
@casablanca I love music boxes, too, Casa. Hey! One more fun connection we have! My mom had quite a few. I had given her this one some years back. After she passed away, my brother offered it back to me, even though he loved it, too. It was handmade by someone within the ministry we were a part of (Youth With A Mission), and they were selling them to raise support. I bought two and gave one to an elderly relative of my mom's who had been a concert pianist before a stroke laid her low. I am so happy to have it again!
