Road Trip...Abandoned Barn by bkbinthecity

Road Trip...Abandoned Barn

Continuing down the road toward the city we came across this old barn. It would have been not that many years ago when this was all farmland. Today it is a rapidly developing neighbourhood. There were a few other buildings here as well and tomorrow I will post a panorama shot of the entire area.
Have a great Easter Weekend Everyone
ruins make such great photos.

I love taking photos of old and abandoned buildings. This one definitely fits the bill and more. I hate to see all the open spaces turned into so many neighborhoods and commercial malls.... But.... that's the way things are these days. Down here too!

It's so sad to see farmland sacrificed to development. We just visited some friends and saw a similar thing. I like that you shot this in b/w- the starkness adds to the loss.

Sad but interesting. I like the shape of the roof.
April 19th, 2014
Sad to see it falling into ruins, but barns make such great photo ops no matter what the condition. You did very well in capturing this scene in black and white.
April 19th, 2014
Sad for the old barn...you can see the encroaching new development behind it.
April 19th, 2014
c'est triste pour cette grange de tombe en ruines

striking architechture
April 19th, 2014
Lovely reminder of ages past when even the humble barn was individually designed and lovingly constructed.
April 20th, 2014
almost looks like a tornado hit
April 20th, 2014
Fascinating shot! Like Vicki, my first thought was maybe a tornado had struck it. Nice in B&W.
April 20th, 2014
Terrific shot -- it makes me wonder at the story behind the buildings, before the decay, what happened to the owners? Why is it in this shape? Wonderful story-telling image!
April 20th, 2014
Wonderful farm scene!
April 20th, 2014
I’d love to explore this place… In fact I’d lve to do more rural and urban decay… It’s always such a good subject for b&w photos.
