Through out the summer months in Edmonton there are a number of festivals that take place. One of them is the Art Walk located in the Old Strathcona District on the south side of the city.
One of this years features was this sand sculpture.
It took 3 artists 5 days to complete it. The theme they chose was one of pirates and here you can see their take on that theme.
Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum! What a great sand sculpture. We have a beach a couple hours away that does the same thing. I went one year and it was Mother Goose rhymes. The detail in this sculpture is amazing. Is that a heart she's holding?? It brings "Pirates of the Caribbean" to mind. You captured the sand sculpture perfectly. Well done.
Incredible what artists can do with simple sand. This is something ELSE! Awesome! If I had done something like this, I'd surely hate to see it washed away in an instant. Oh WELL!
Brilliant sand sculpture! One can hardly believe what it's possible to do with sand. I remember seeing some wonderful creations at last year's CNE. Great find and well captured Brian.
