Field Of Honour by bkbinthecity

Field Of Honour

Many of you may have already heard the news of what has happened here in Canada in the past couple of days. Since Canada has officially joined in the global fight against ISIS by sending CF-18 Jet Fighters to take part in air strikes home-grown terrorists here have launched attacks against members of Canadian Military. In two separate attacks two Canadian Soldiers have been killed. One in Quebec and the other in an attack in Ottawa at Parliament Hill.
Today I decided to post a couple of pictures I had taken some time ago. We have two cemeteries here in Edmonton that have a Military Field of Honour in them.
These two crosses are for the two soldiers killed as we honour them and remember their families at this time
It must be a hard day for all Canadians - those that agree and those that don't! We will see how this tragic event unfolds!

It's very sad, I was going to express sympathies when I saw it on TV and heard your PM speak (who was very close I gather, in a room the shooter passed by). Nice tribute. We are all in this, we have no choice.

It is tragic what we humans do to each other in the name of power and being right. I'm sorry for the retaliation taking place in Canada. It is sad, but sad all around for me.

Lovely tribute, Brian. I'm not a violent person, but the thought of these young lives cut short makes my blood boil. These attacks were so cowardly and sick. Well, I'd better shut up. Thank-you for this.
