Yesterday was a very busy day with family. Part of the day was with my side as a number of people gathered together to celebrate the 60th wedding anniversary of my aunt and uncle. This photo has them seated in front. The two ladies standing behind are my aunt's two sisters. The one on the right is my Mom and the one on the left is my other aunt.
It was a bitter sweet day due to fact that my aunt, the one celebrating her anniversary, has Alzheimers Disease and for the most part does not recognize most of the ones that were there. Despite that she in many ways is still the kind loving lady I have known my whole life
What a wonderful shot and celebration, Brian. So sorry that your Aunt has Alzheimers. It has hit so many that I know, friends parents and family. A difficult disease for all involved to deal with. Looks like she has a wonderful family to help her through. Your Mom is beautiful. You are lucky to have her. I have my Mom as well. We hold them close and dear to us.
Well it's lovely that your aunt was still able to attend the party. My mother in law is past that point now and wedding anniversaries have become difficult to celebrate in any real sort of way - she's in that alive but not alive phase - it's a terrible disease. Her sisters and husband look hale and hearty!
Lovely family portrait for this very special occasion. It must be sad for all of you that your aunt is too sick now to recognize people, but I am sure nothing can destroy her loving kindness, it's a part of her.
That was certainly a time to celebrate two special people - I'm sure most of the family remembers her as time was several years ago. She looks happy here.
