Left Behind by bkbinthecity

Left Behind

Throughout downtown and some of the older areas if the city you will come across abandoned buildings. Here were a few that have recently been vacated just east of the centre of downtown
It's always a shame to see abandoned buildings. The one on the left looks quite interesting.

I guess it has to happen eventually. You wonder at the dreams of the people who built it. Very thought provoking capture. Fav

I always hate to see this, perhaps they will be renovated again soon!
July 26th, 2015
Don't you find that downtown areas have a hard time making a go of it these days? Big box stores have really taken us away from the core of the town. Hopefully there will be some urban renewal in this area.
July 26th, 2015
They seem like they would be good candidates for renovation!

Awesome picture. Congratulations on making the Trending Page. Well deserved.

love the b&w edit on this one Brian

Great b&w shot...you've captured the bleakness of abandoned bldgs
July 26th, 2015
I think it's kind of sad that new buildings keep springing up and many sit empty. These are nice in b&w.
July 26th, 2015
lots of character to this shot...the fence says it all!
July 26th, 2015
Too bad- they look like they'd be quite useful. Good shot!
July 26th, 2015
Nicely captured. I think it's the same story everywhere :(
July 26th, 2015
They will probably make way to high-risers -that is the fashion of the day, even if they are not needed.
July 26th, 2015
Sad to see abandoned buildings, but maybe one day the site will be cleared and new building will spring up in their place.
July 26th, 2015
B&W is a good choice for this.
July 26th, 2015
Sad scene.
July 26th, 2015
It is a sad scene and the b&w is a good choice. Nice comp and POV.
July 26th, 2015
Very interesting shot and it's sad to see places get old and decay.
July 26th, 2015
This kind of scene always makes me sad -- I get the sense of a once vibrant area providing jobs and roots to people, now abandoned and lonely.
July 26th, 2015
Your shot expresses the feeling of desertion very well
July 26th, 2015
These buildings look sturdy; and from the amount of cars parked near them, this area must still be well-used. I hope that this area will be revitalized and re-landscaped soon!
July 26th, 2015
You caught the slight bleakness and sadness of these buildings. B&w works well for this shot, fav for me.
July 26th, 2015
Wonderful for b&w - fits the mood of the shot. I've seen so many older buildings restored in downtown areas - do hope that happens here.
July 26th, 2015
It is always sad to see this happen. The tall one on the right reminds me of where I grew up.
