Then and Now.....Lowe Block

Well continuing with this series today we look at the Lowe Block. The top photo shows the Lowe Block as it was in 1941. The tenant on the ground floor was Lees Drug Store. As was quite common the upper floors were apartments.
I am not sure what year the building was demolished but today on this site are two different businesses. One is Money Mart which does short term loans and the other is Pizza 73
I think the original building has much more appeal than the modern service station.

This is the first time that I have seen a building that has been demolished and replaced by a building of lower height. Thank you for sharing. Loving this series of photos.

Sad to see that lovely building didn't survive- but at least the lot is still in use.
