On The Avenue

The city decided that in order to create more room to allow people to social distance them selves they took one of the lanes and blocked it off to allow more room for pedestrians.
Since l took this picture in the middle of the afternoon it was quiet. It does get busier in the evening
What a great idea, it looks so neat too.

Tastefully done, much nicer than traffic cones.

Great idea. In the winter they can change it back.

Definitely a good idea to give pedestrians more space so they can social distance. A number of streets in York have been closed to traffic for the same reason. A nice shot!

Great street scene

In the spring the region created a bike lane out here in the suburbs and our mayor and the neighboring community fought it and got it closed because "it created too much traffic". Sigh

Good that you have the political will behind this initiative

Seems this is a popular idea. We've got those bump out eating/drinking areas in our town. They even blocked off part of a street for tables and chairs.

Great city and avenue view and shot.

That's a great idea- businesses need to be open to stay afloat for sure! It's a pretty street so very conducive to what the city did and it looks like people are enjoying it too. Nice shot!
