School Days by bkbinthecity

School Days

This building was built in 1909 as a temporary school until the Westmount school opened. Due to certain circumstances the Westmount school did not open until 1918.
In 1918 this building was moved to the Glenora neighborhood and served as the Glenora school from 1918 to 1940 when a new school was built.
This building went on to have a variety of uses over the years. The latest tenant was a church.
Today it sits vacant and is up for sale. It will most likely be torn down and sold as the land only to some developer
I wouldn't have guessed it was that old - looked quite modern - hate to think it will be torn down!

The trees and building look nice with the snow... looks mighty cold though!
November 17th, 2020
Lovely shot and tones, love all that snow.
November 17th, 2020
I hope it doesn't get torn down. Would make for a nice museum, shop or even a nice home.
November 17th, 2020
looks like it has been cared for over the years. ready for another chapter to be written

Lovely snowy capture. We destroy such places too quickly. Well, but money rules.
November 17th, 2020
Hopefully the building stays put and finds a new occupant. It doesn't look that old.
November 17th, 2020
Cool history and building!

November 17th, 2020
A nice looking building but given its age, I'm sure there are many things that need updating and repair, more expensive than razing the building and starting over.
November 17th, 2020
