Since 1939

It was November of 1939 that the Hudson's Bay Department Store opened its doors in downtown Edmonton. For several years this was home to one of Edmonton's premier Department Stores.
As a kid I remember coming here with my Grandmother on Saturday afternoons. I also remember the great window displays especially at Christmas.
Today it is home to Enterprise Square which is an extension of the University of Alberta
Wonderful memories, pic!!

Lovely city scene. Pity no Christmas decorations to attract people to the place and brighten up the damp Christmas atmosphere.

Nicely captured, it seems that the grand old department stores are a thing of the past, all of the grand ones in downtown Minneapolisn are gone.

I too remember visiting the large department stores...what a day out that would be! Such shops seem no longer to be viable... not so many left here in our part of the world!
