With the sun out and the snow gone, what a great day to take the bigger dogs hiking. Laila, Pavarti, Neville, Dozer and my dog Charm had a great time and I could have walked miles down the river today. The river is very high so it was a gorgeous walk with a different perspective. Laila was beside herself with happiness and always checking to see if I was coming too...she's a strange one. Some day she'll be tame. I think?
@kathyd Yes this is Laila, my feral girl. Gorgeous as can be and happy as long as no one touches her. What she came from I can't imagine...neglect, abuse...I don't know. She loves to walk with me though.
@kathyd She's been with me for awhile, she goes in the kennel at night. I pulled her from a low kill shelter because she needed someone to work with her, she was always hiding from the public. So she's been in care for quite some time. I had her spayed and microchipped but it takes about an hour to corner her and catch her. Once in awhile she'll submit to be petted, but 5 minutes later, she's as wild as ever. But today she wagged her tail the entire time...
She's so pretty, as is the picture. I was just reading what you wrote above, and how wonderful it must have been for you to see her tail wag for an extended period of time. A definite sign of happiness. I am sure that if anyone can melt away her scars, you can. I would also think that the exposure to your family dogs is good for the foster dogs. A good way to show shadow some behaviors.
