Tried shooting this on a red background, then a pink, but it was all too much. Stuck with white :-)

White is definitely the best choice of background colors cause this photo turned out great. I love the heart-shape bowl with the red trim.
Reminds me a popular book some years back "If Life is Just a Bowl of Cherries Why Am I In the Pits?" I think Erma Bombeck was the author.
