Frustration

Today is all about doctors and appointments as it started at 9am back at the GP.
I don't mean to rant, but I have a hard time being proud of the NHS. I know they do an amazing job, for the most part, but my 8 years of dealing with them has been just awful. Misdiganosis for severe illnesses, appointments and treatments/operations cancelled 99% of the time. I've been pushed from pillar to post, had doctors telling me outright lies and when picked up on it, they've told me to go elsewhere. I've been made worse off as a direct consequence of incompetent doctors. Its hard not to feel some hatred and my humour is failing!

Today, after much research, I have made an appointment to see a specialist privately. I hate to do that, I really do, but I need to speak to someone who knows what they are doing, even if have to pay for every minute. I can be helped easily by a doc who knows his stuff, but there seem to be none on the NHS - weird huh? Its time to take some control as I want my life back and to live without pain.

Yeah, I know I shouldnt moan, and I shouldnt post stuff like this here because 365 is cute and fluffy. Sometimes tho its just hard to think of anything cute and fluffy.... This is my therapy today
OOoooh my friend! Let it all rip! So sorry you have all this to deal with and you've been let down by the system. I hope a specialist is able to help you in a real positive way. On the up side I have trying some photos inspired by some folk here including you. Hope they work out and I can get to post some. As you would say...chin up chuck! :-)

Hope you're ok. By the way I've been having a stressful time with work and wanted to take a picture of all the horrible letters from accountants and HMRC to show my recent working days but didn't post any not because it wasn't cute and fluffy but because actually it was just rubbish! Yours looks good with all the NHS headers. Anyway 365 is kind of about reflecting your day and I always like the shots that show that. Although obviously seeing good times is a bit better! Once again, hope you're ok.

Dn't get me started on hmrc!

I don't think 365 has to be cute and fluffy all the time. This is, after all, a year in your life and if this is what you're dealing with today, let it out. I think sometimes expressing our frustrations or hurt or whatever else through our art helps us feel better. I'm sorry to hear you've gone through so much with the NHS, and it sickens me that the very people who are supposed to look out for your health are doing just the opposite. I hope the private doctor is able to get you back on the right track to being healthy.

"Cute and fluffy" isn't real life, and I would much rather see honesty and realness in photos. I hear such horror tales about the medical world, and it does make one wonder if there is anyone competent or caring left. I know of one (my sister Bonnie who is a home health nurse and administrator), but overall it seems that entering into the world of doctors and hospitals is nothing short of a nightmare. I'm sorry for all you have encountered and pray this specialist will be just what you need. I'm glad you shared your frustration.

Sounds like an absolute nightmare, hope you get the care you need from the private specialist.

What you are going through reflects in your art whether you verbalize it or not. Knowing more about an artist is always helpful. We don't have the problems you describe........yet. I have been through my share of drs. And can relate. Hope you are helped by the private one! The best to you! Good pic though!

Nightmare been there done that as well. But the up side to privat is you get seen very quick and sorted out .Down side is all private docs are NHS docs as well they just work part time for both.My mother had a new hip last week the surgeon is NHS and Private she just got done quicker for going private and a nice lonely room all to herself .Good luck hope all goes well ,which i am sure it will. xxx

Sorry to hear of all your issues with NHS. I can't imagine having all that has happened to you!

I agree with everyone else....365 is about our lives...the good, the bad and the ugly. Here's hoping it becomes good for you soon!

My 365 is about how I feel today...happy, sad, melancholy, ticked off, or just plain indifferent. Sometimes its cute and fluffy, most of the time it's life...and that's what it's all about! Like this photo that shows your frustration!

Thanks for sharing, many of us feel the same about the "system"
October 19th, 2010
I agree with all the above..let it out. Use 365 as it was intended...I too hope things work out for you soon...if it helps in Brisbane, Aust, where I am they aren't that great either and I'm in private ATM..very frustrating....

It's a great picture because it clearly shows the frustration even without the words. I am sorry about your difficulties and hope that the specialist is able to help quickly and inexpensively.

Really sorry about all the problems you're having with you health coverage and your health. Unfortunately, health care coverage is difficult the world over. I'm told that my company has the best health (including vision, dental, etc) coverage around, yet I've spent quite sometime trying to get to the bottom of what's going on and why they don't want to cover what they are supposed to. You're just speaking for many of us.

It's your 365 - you bloody well do what you want with it! Sorry to hear of your travails - hope things start getting sorted for you pronto. I am lucky as I've never had to call on the NHS for anything serious yet - but I do know that my experience of trying to get even minor stuff looked at properly doesn't bode well for when things start to go seriously wrong ...

Left a lyric on my post for you to ponder on. Your starter for 10!

A great photo that allows us to feel your frustration with the system. Sorry to hear about your troubles. Wishing you good results with your private visit.

I HopeYou Get Help Soon You Have Friends On 365 Keep Posting
October 19th, 2010
Good luck, fingers crossed this will be the solution to all the frustration and that you can be on the track to getting the treatment you need!
October 19th, 2010
The People have spoken! This is your forum. Say what you want and forget cute & fluffy! It's overrated & many of us are seeking authentic interactions anyways! Keep sharing because I too really enjoy your genuinity!
October 20th, 2010
Sorry you've had to deal with this. Hope it gets better.
October 20th, 2010
I hope you find a doc who can help you to get the treatment you need to live without pain. Sometimes it helps to take somebody with you to an appointment. Then you have at least two people on your side and the docs are a minority.
October 20th, 2010
hope things turn around. it is so important to find a doc that you can trust! so keep searching until you find one!
October 20th, 2010
You can rant as much as you like on your 365! Also...a lot of people have gone through the same...this is a good shot to demonstrate your frustration!
October 20th, 2010
I see nothing wrong with feeling the way you feel--rant away

LIfe is not cute and fluffy. We try to make it seem so but it is just not. You project is personal and at the end of the day you are the one that will relate to it. These are the things that make it personal.

Freida, I was just going to say as well: life is not cute and fluffy and you have no idea how often I come home, thinking all I want to do is take a picture of my fist or my hand showing that one finger. Don't feel bad. Venting is healthy!
October 21st, 2010
@luxvivens Lol, I didnt mean to but giggled at the thought of a one finger pic here, but I know the temptation! Hugs :-)
