This is a Jersey Tiger Moth - I'd never seen one before! He/she was hanging around the same spot, all on it's own for quite a while. So pretty with a bright flash of shocking orange under the wings.
Not too keen on being photographed with my mobile phone, but poor fella became Lucy's dinner about a week later... Cat's eating moths makes my stomach turn!
