This week we're feeling inspired by a long weekend of hiking, cycling and exploring our favourite parks and trails near where we call home, Vancouver. So, this week's theme is 'path'.
Whether you're exploring somewhere new, or taking a more familiar route, pathways can be a fascinating focal point, leading the viewer to wonder about where you're going, or where you've come from. Using the rule of thirds and playing with lighting, can transform the most simple scenes into the most satisfying shots.
From bustling city sidewalks, to quiet country lanes, we can't wait to see where you've been!
How to enter this week's theme
When uploading your photos use the tag section (on the edit/organise screen) and insert this week's theme tag: theme-path.
Entry Guidelines: Photos must be your own and must have been taken and uploaded from Tuesday 7th August until the following Sunday (6 days). 5 finalists will be chosen on the Monday evening (PST), then you get to vote for the winner.
Winner of the 'Close' theme
Thanks again to everyone who took a minute to vote! We're excited to crown @northy as the winner for the close theme!
It was a close call, with some amazing finalists this week, but @northy's 'shrooms...' photograph really stood out. It takes a lot of thought and expertise to turn something so simple into something so stunning. With the sharp focus on the mushroom tops, and soft focus as light fades into dark, this shot is perfected with it's composition.
Vote for the 'Pet' theme winner
This week was a bigger treat than usual - with so many gorgeous photos of your cute critters! It was super tricky, but we finally managed to choose just five finalists for the pet theme!
To cast your vote, just reply to this blog post with the number (in digit form) of the photo you would like to see win.
