From last week's nature related theme, we're going switch straight to something man made. In particular, we're focusing on something that's been causing problems with nature and gaining a lot of attention around the world. That's right, this week's theme is 'plastic'!
A wonder material from previous generations, plastic is everywhere! Let's admit, it's very useful and versatile, plus it comes in many different shapes and forms. In fact, our cameras and smartphones that take our amazing pictures, will have some type of plastic in them!
But, we're learning more and more about the dangerous side effect of this wonderful material when it goes into the waste system. Many of us will be making a conscious effort to recycle, encourage people not to litter and to even reduce the amount of disposable plastic we use.
So, with plastic all around us you won't have to look far for inspiration - but you might need to think outside of the box to get creative and take a photo you're proud of. Think about composition, lighting, zooming in, or having fun finding plastic in places it shouldn't be!
How to enter this week's theme
When uploading your photos use the tag section (on the edit/organise screen) and insert this week's theme tag: theme-plastic.
Entry Guidelines: Photos must be your own and must have been taken and uploaded from Tuesday 11th September until the following Sunday (6 days). 5 finalists will be chosen on the Monday evening (PST), then you get to vote for the winner.
Winner of the 'Night' theme
Thanks again for taking a minute to vote for another winner. We're excited to announce @gilbertwood as the winner of the night theme!
We love how the two umbrella's really pop out in @gilbertwood's photo, making us wonder what the pair were chatting about as they walked through the city at midnight after watching the ballet! The neon sign lingering in top corner and bokeh looking rain drops on the lens are also a fun touch, adding to the character of the image.
Vote for the 'Feathered' theme winner
It was a real treat looking through this week's theme entries - you guys really didn't disappoint us! It took a while, but we managed to choose just five finalists so now it's over to you to vote for a winner for the feathered theme.
To cast your vote, just reply to this blog post with the number (in digit form) of the photo you would like to see win.
Thanks for including me! Loved #1 when I first saw it, still love it today.
