Jason's Frog and Fly came out top from the Voting for the "In The Garden" theme, well done Jason.
I spoke to Jason and he has chosen "Remembrance" as our theme for this week...
Anzac Day is important to me and to Australians. With Anzac Day on Monday, this weeks theme will give many people an opportunity to reflect on the tragedies of the past and those that continue today.
If you would like to enter please tag your photos with theme-remembrance

:-)
Doesn't qualify for the remembrance theme as it's not taken during the correct dates, but I just wanted to share this photo with you. I won't go into the details here but I've commented on the actual pic itself.
For those who don't know the red poppy has become a symbol of rememberence for ANZAC - they sell them on the street to raise funds and this is my one :-)
For my Mom who died Dec 30, 2002. She is the guardian angel to my kids...1 of which she didn't get to meet.
I didn't manage to get an ANZAC photo because I was sick but I might still do one and just have the wrong date lol
This stopped my heart for a minute. Touching photo.
Proof! I call this shot "Proof" b/c some have, in the past, referred to our loss as a "miscarriage" but here is PROOF that she LIVED! Sadly it's also proof that she died. Forever loved and missed is our first born daughter, Elizabeth. Can't wait for our Heavenly reunion
My mother suffered from Sickle Cell Disease, and when I was born, she was told that she would not live past the age of 35. Well, to my great joy, she lived until she was 68 (April 20, 2009) even though she was in pain every day of her life.
Since I bought this angel in remembrance of my mother, I wanted to recognize all of the people who have died from Sickle Cell Disease and to thank my mother for giving birth to me 51 years ago: " I love you, Mom. Thank you for giving me life and for loving me for 50 years and 9 months."
THIS PHOTOGRAPH IS NOT BEING ENTERED INTO THE THEME-REMEMBRANCE CONTEST. It is a photograph I would like to offer to my Aussie and New Zealand friends for ANZAC Day:
This beautiful columbine was developed and named "Remembrance" to honor the victims of the tragedy at Columbine high school in Colorado back in April of 1999.
On ANZAC day, I don't just remember those who fought for our freedom ... but I remember the wives, children and mothers left behind.
I've seen a number of amazing shots on here already for 9/11 or even personal rememberence... I personally think it's your own interpretation of the word "Rememberance" (as it's not specifically called "ANZAC") - so like all other themes, go with what you think it to be...
Proud to present you my first entry for a Weekly Theme,
I really hope some of you like it, and if so, it would be so awesome supporting it,
as this is one of my first shots, which means it's the sixth picture of mine yet. :)
As I already said in the personal text of this picture on my "blog", how I like to call it, the quality of the picture is quite poor, because I've just a digicam to use, but I think eventhough it can put itself into an appearence.

A picture from a simple country church
Peace.
1st Day:
my 300th Entry:
My Uncle went missing in France on July 13, 1944 and never came home.
For my Aunt Sandy, who went with the Angels, 4-27-11
For our very close friend who died in Iraq
This one has a more realistic feel to it (although still not perfect in my eyes), but still has the dramatic feel to it I was after...
An 18-month-old baby died in a house fire set by his mother's boyfriend. The mother, her daughter, and her niece also died in the fire. The burned house, which was in the lot behind the tree, was torn down within a month of the fire. The arsonist was arrested and charged with the deaths of 4 people.
Would this be considered 'remembrance' ?
All four of my grandparents are buried at the same cemetery. Spent some time there this week because of the weekly theme of remembrance. I've never taken a camera to the cemetery before... I saw the same cemetery - even though I've been there dozens of times over the years - but in a different way.
This is from a Special Olympics event. Please read the description!
This is a statue in Coventrys Cathedral Ruins entitled Reconcilliation. It was created by Josefina de Vasconcellos. In 1995 (50 years after the end of the second World War) it was given to Coventry by Richard Branson, an identical statue was placed in the Peace Garden, Hiroshima, Japan on behalf of the people of Coventry.
The sculptures were placed to remind us that in the face of destructive forces human dignity and love will triumph over disaster and bring nations together in respect and peace.
