This works for me Krista: the blur and the desaturation of the vegetation underlines the relatively ephemeral nature of the undergrowth as counterpoint to the solidity and durable nature of the pines.

@blueberry1222 Interesting Krista: your original edit popped up on my Home page, where you were complaining that you thought the colours were too pale. I opened your project with the intention of suggesting that you should desaturate them further, but you had already taken the image down. When it re-appeared, you had done exactly that, so I just left a straight critique! Great minds and all that...
