Emerald Mound

I know that this round hill doesn't really look like much, but even with a wide angle lens, it is impossible to capture the whole 'pyramid' in one shot. This is the second largest Native American Ceremonial Mound in the United States, created by the Mississippi Culture around 1200-1600 AD. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emerald_Mound_Site

Standing on this massive man made structure got my mind spinning....who were these people? Why did they build this? Who got to live on it? It felt like I was not worthy enough to be standing there.

One needs to see an aerial shot to appreciate the extent of this incredible structure: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p5exXm5qB1U
That sounds like a very interesting place to visit.
