TWA by blueberry1222

TWA

This plane looked so majestic. It harked from the days when airline travel was glamorous. Pima Air and Space Museum.
I never knew it until now that Howard Hughes once owned TWA. He acquired it in 1939. I flew TWA many times while I was in the service. Although not on one that looked like this. I flew out of Biên Hòa, South Viet Nam on a TWA aircraft. I will never forget seeing that big plane land on the tarmac late at night to take us home. Another part of American history is gone.

@skipt07 Reminds me of the movie: Last Days in Vietnam. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt3279124/ . Really good flick if you haven't seen it.

Was air travel ever glamorous? I hated it from the first (1960s) and now it seems to be utterly unbearable, so I avoid it completely
