I am a healthcare worker in the US. I work in the imaging department. Currently, the US does not have enough Coronavirus tests to immediately test patients that arrive in the ER. As it is right now, we are CT scanning patients without knowing if they have Coronavirus or not. I wear a mask and goggles, but I'm still getting exposed to everyone unnecessarily. It would be better if the ER could rule out Coronavirus and then not send them to imaging or at least let me know if a patient has the virus so I can put on proper protective wear beyond mask and goggles and scrub down the room entirely with bleach. This is utter bullshit what's going on over here and at this rate, every healthcare worker and every patient is going to get sick. No one seems to be taking Coronavirus seriously and I look stupid for throwing a fit. Let me say it right now...it's going to get BAD over here.
Never did a photo portray the text that goes with it so well. My heart goes out to you and all healthcare workers. These are such extraordinary times - I hope you will be kept safe.
Love your focus and your month so far. Your title piqued my interest and I agree with you. So many are not taking the proper precautions to keep everyone safe. Prayers for all.
@haskar I think that we actually know a lot, we have just chosen to ignore it. There should be no reason why it takes days!!! to get test results back. If you're an NBA player, you get your test back in 2 hours....hospital patient? 48 hours. Makes no sense. We need to know who has the virus faster than that....the infection rate will just skyrocket otherwise. Hospitals are discharging patients before test results come back only to discover that they released an infected patient. How is a hospital supposed to take care of someone when they don't even know what's wrong with them???
@blueberry1222 Yes. You're right . There are such situations in every country. Access paths are everywhere. Authorities are either panic or do not notice the threat. I know you are on the front lines and it is difficult for you. Take care of yourself.
My prayers for all of you in the health care field in this troubling time. Not nearly enough thought was given to preparing for this in advance - there is no way you should be as unprotected as you all are. Your posted shot fits so perfectly with the situation.
ugh ... krista ... have everything crossed that you can keep yourself safe ... so frustrating and worrying for you. do very much like your image in the meantime :)
I hope you stay safe. So frustrating and scary.
