I took this photo in Warren, AZ where I learned that this was Arizona's first planned community. Built in the early 20th century using the "City Beautiful" concept, it was created to house mine managers away from central Bisbee's noise and congestion.
The layout was centered around The Vista, a long, linear park-lined boulevard that served as the neighborhood's main axis. This photo was taken here.
Most of he houses there were older, featuring a collection of historic Arts and Crafts-style bungalow homes. I thought the city was cute. However, the main drawback was the pile of mine waste that lined the edge of the community, making the whole place appear a little dystopian.
