Planes Going in Circles

We had a pretty wicked storm last night in Phoenix that prevented planes from landing at the airport. Someone complied a nice little list of flight maps depicting airplanes circling each other to stall for time before getting cleared for landing.

If they were circling, they must have been in the middle of this storm! Rather not be inside one!

@maggiemae Actually, they had to go in circles just outside of the storm while waiting for it to pass. Desert storms are super quick but super intense. They were told to circle only because they couldn't land at the airport and there was nowhere else to go.
