Driving home this morning I got this brilliant idea to shoot this from my window because I was too lazy to get out and brave the cold. The cornfield sits right next to the gravel road and rises up to a to a gentle hill....the farm is actually a cosiderable distance away on the next road over. For better or worse these pictures seem to take on a life of their own once I upload them...sometimes I instantly know I have it just the way I want it and other days (like today) I can't tell if it's ok to upload or just plain weird. Oh well, here goes nothing! :)
I love this. The corn field, so cold and broken down, has such a strong texture, but the serene farm scene in the background gives it such a wonderful country home feel. You really have the eye for picking great scenes!
not weird at all, I think this is great. I love the close focus and the farm beyond. You really get a sense of winter and harvest and hope the farmers are resting up for next year. Well done!
I love the depth you have achieved here. The front is so beautifully crisp, while the back is lovely and soft. Great use of thirds and lighting too. Love it!
||It's not weird. I know what you mean, sometimes you take th shots and the one that you thought was not OK turns out to be the one you like the best. Neat picture, I think I took one this autumn from a farmer's field very similar. Yours is better.
I like it Paula. I try and try to get nice shots of corn fields. Most of the time I just throw them in the trash. I think it is something about the color and shape that is hard for me. I love this persepctive and the farm in the background creates the story for the photo. very ncie.
Thanks to all of you for the lovely comments! The more I looked at this picture the more I wondered if anyone else would be able to see it as I saw it when I took it. It was hard to describe this scene because the field was right there a few feet from me as I sat in my vehicle and the farm sits up on a hill probably 1/2 or 3/4 mile in the distance with this large cornfield, a timber area and railroad tracks separating it from me that you couldn't see behind the foreground that's in focus. :) It's nice to be able to take a chance posting pictures we're a little iffy on without fear of being ridiculed!...so thanks again for that! :)
paula, this is such a great place for experimenting and exploring, isn't it? i really like this shot...it has a unique perspective that i find quite interesting.
Well, I happen to like it very much!! The definition in the foreground is wonderful, and the softness of the farm and the sky in the background give it a serene feel... Love the warmth of the colors in the sky!!!
A real rural setting. had to look up where you are located. the picture could have been right here in our rural area. in fact the barn and the silo look almost identical.
Thanks for your comments...will def soak up some sun...it's 20 degrees here today...can't wait to fly out!!!
