Winter Windmill by bluemoon

Winter Windmill

We went on a little roadtrip this afternoon and this is one of the sights along the way. My husband doesn't slow down for much of anything when he's driving but especially not when he's on his way to pick up his new tv so this was shot through his dirty windshield going 65 mph. Not bad considering!! :)
wow! amazing shot esp for whizzing by at 65 mph! beautiful, somber.

Not bad at all considering it was through the windshield and highway speeds!

I love this. I was just wishing I had a nice windmill photo in my project. This is great. I love old buildings, something that looks like it has a story to tell. Keep sharing!

I had to make this a fav. I love the tones onthis, and the composition is awesome. Nice job! The texture looks lik eit could be a charcoal drawing.

Surely you jest!!! I cannot believe that was the situation when you took this shot. Very impressive at any speed. I love the contrast, composition. and clarity. I'm a bit blown away Paula. You are a good photographer!

@stepheesue @scottwong @barbsmith @invisiblejett @hiddencreek @gingersanders @plp @kellyintampa Thank you all for your very nice comments!! Actually, I've had a lot of practice over the years taking pictures through the windshield after a few extended vacations out West. If I had my way I'd stop for every little attraction along the way but my husband, not so much! Of course for every good picture there are dozens and dozens that get deleted! :)

@individuality_a Thank you for the positive feedback! Your comment made me laugh because I'm always whining about not having anything interesting around here to take pictures of .... why can't we live somewhere that has scenery!! :)
January 8th, 2011
@bluemoon I'd suggest Tennesse in the first few days of Sring and the Dead of Summer. WHEW! What scenery! Green or pink EVERYWHERE! Or Florida in the begining of Summer.

@plp @maggie2 @jonna Thank you, I really appreciate your nice comments! I think because it was so cloudy out you couldn't see the crud on the windshield....I'd have never gotten away with it if the sun was shining! :)

@wac Thank you very much Wendy, I consider that a huge compliment coming from you! :) BUT, you didn't see all the pictures that went straight to the recycle bin!! :)

Good picture and great through the windshield. I know what you mean about husbands stopping for our picture taking. Doesn't happen. You get to shoot along the way. You've obviously mastered the skill. LOL

@digitalrn Thank you Rick for the feedback and fav, I really appreciate it! ::)

Yes, mine says 'Let me know if you want to stop for a picture', then drives so fast past everything that it's long gone before I have a chance to speak up! You got a really good one out of this, though. Love it.
January 8th, 2011
Wow,you did well,love it!!!

A great shot though the window.
Husbands are all alike :-)

Excellent - I love the vintage treatment. That is ...assuming you didn't take it a hundred years ago !!!

This is fabulous - I enjoy your shots and you are lucky to have such interesting surroundings!

Love this one! It looks like a drawing. Love the editing and the composition. You're so lucky to pass by all these photo-oppurtunities

This is amazing, like an old painting... The loneliness and silence coming from this picture is almost touchable.

@kirsty @ellida @emeraldboots @peggysirk @geertje @shadowdancer @cglist @cowbirdlane Thank you for stopping by and commenting on my photos, I really look forward to reading them and viewing all your photos! It makes me smile when anyone says I'm lucky to have such landscape to photograph because I am always dreaming of traveling someplace exotic where there is beautiifull scenery everywhere I look...I guess the grass is always greener on the other side! Sometimes rural gets a little boring! :)
January 8th, 2011
I love how rustic this looks...very nice.
January 8th, 2011
Very nice!

We're somewhat rural, we live on 40 acres with about 175 cows. I wasn't sure if I'd love it or not, but...... I DO! You should stop by my blog and it'll give you an idea of my place. www.thedaysillremember.com
