I've tried two days in a row to capture these magnificent horses and so far haven't fared too well. They live just outside of town and there is too much traffic and that darn fence that is unavoidable except for where they go in and out of the barn door which is the shot I tried unsuccessfully to get. This is my best attempt at a drive by today...I vow tokeep going back until I get it right. I know absolutely nothing about horses but they definitely look like the Budweiser Clydesdales to me and they are truly gorgeous creatures. My picture did NOT do them justice.
This is a really good drive by shot! My suggestion......stop and ask the owner if you can take a picture. I did that last summer. There was a horse that I wanted to get a picture of, so I went in to the barn to talk to the owner. I ended up getting a picture of a four hour old calf instead, but it was great fun!
Fabulous shot of this magnificent animal. Love Clydesdales and really miss the way they used to clip clop through the streets delivering bread and milk when I was a girl.
Where did you find these beautiful creatures - UK? I love Clydedales - such a lovely shape and almost cuddly with their effusive feathers and main. Love this.
I like draft horses too. I like your shot. The horse looks rectangular enough to look good with the gate/fence. Then, the horse is turned just enough to add interest to the photo. Great shot.
@petersonsheri Thanks Sheri I appreciate your kind words and suggestion....I may have to suck it up and get enough courage to do that. I'm basically a chicken but I'm afraid the owner may come out one of these days and think I'm casing the joint to steal his horses or something if I don't! :) It obviously worked for you....I can't imagine being able to photograph a newborn....that would be amazing!
