Why Lost Island??? Because my husband Bob and I went out for the first time on Sunday evening & I got lost, then we went back with Joey on Monday night which is when I took this picture. It was our first time in this particular area and it was in a very secluded, wooded area. It had a very narrow dirt trail and as we got deeper in I fell way behind him taking pictures and thought I'd walk down a little trail to the river's edge to take some pictures of some geese and a Cormorant that was in the water. I don't know how long I was down there but evidently I lost track of time. Eventually he turned around and noticed I was gone so he turned back to head for the truck. When I was finished on the bank I went back up and headed down the trail in the direction we had been going and couldn't find him so when I came to a 3-way intersection I had no idea which way he went so I decided to turn around and try to find my way back to the truck since it wasn't much longer before it would start getting dark and I sure didn't want to get stuck down there in the dark with no phone! I finally found the truck but he wasn't there....he had followed the trail in the other direction trying to find me so I sat and waited and waited and waited until he finally returned to the truck....good times! :) Next time I''ll be taking my smartphone w/GPS!!
I had some fun tweaking this one! P.S. This was taken with a fisheye lens.
Instant Fav! The lighting & color are amazing! I love the colors & reflection in the water. I love the way you used to the veggitation to frame this. It does look a a secret island!
Perfect for the fisheye lens! This is really awesome! I take my phone everywhere with me, even when I'm at home. I've taken a couple of falls and I don't want to be out in the field with the vultures circling! LOL!
@cjwhite Thank you! That's too funny because there was a vulture circling overhead as I was walking back. I even took a couple pictures of him but they all turned out blurry! :)
your story is all too familiar to me. I think we've become too dependent on cellphones & other technology. Sometimes we take 2 way radios to help with lack of attention, especially where there is no cell reception. The shot turned out beautiful!
