In case you can't tell this is a fuzzy little caterpillar or at least that's what I thought it was.....until I uploaded my pics and got a closer look on my monitor. YIKES....looks like the thing in the movie Alien! It will always be a memorable photo for me....I was holding my camera with my bestest macro lens on it, lens cap off when I almost dropped my backpack that was just slung over one shoulder....went to readjust it and fumbled my camera and all I could do was watch in horror as it seemed to go tumbling through the air in slow motion....lens first into the mud! I tried not to panic, picked it up and took out my lens pen and rocket blower and cleaned it up a bit....took a couple pictures with it and everything still seems to be working ok but I'm not going to push my luck....no more pictures today! Nikon...takes a licking and keeps on clicking! :)
Fabulous macro! I know how you feel. I smashed my macro lens that way a few months back now, I always close up or put down safely before I take a shot.
I don't know which more horrifying - the image of this scary alien creature or the fact that you dropped your lens into the mud. I'm glad it worked out, which it did. But I'm kinda bummed because I don't think I'll ever be able to think of caterpillars in the same way.
Creepy cool shot. I think the creature put a spell on you! Glad your camera and lens are okay. Last fall when I was hiking in England I dropped my lens out of my pocked into the mud. I still have a bit of UK mud in the ridge of the focusing ring as a reminder.
awesome focus!! Most things in life look quite different upon closer inspection (especially the people around us) hope everything's okay with your camera.
This is an awesome macro shot Paula! Love the blur and the detail of the caterpillar! The clarity is awesome, especially after hearing you dropped it in the mud! That's quite a camera! You should do a commercial!!
