Downy Delight

My little Downy Woodpeckers have been frequent visitors lately since the snow arrived. They're usually such perky little birds but I'd have to say this guy looks like he's a little out of sorts today! :)
Nice one framed... like it...

You are so lucky to have all those beautiful visiting you. Great shot! Can't believe you are amateur. You are too humble.

Great capture and framing . . . he could be on a card! I'm so jealous of these shots, our woodpecker still eludes me! I did manage to get some great shots of our deer this morning that I'll be posting tonight!

@starfisher @estelle @stepheesue @kezzam @robv Thank you for the nice comments! This little Downy Woodpecker sat there right outside my window all morning making it so easy for me to snap his picture dozens of times. He gets all the credit for this picture for being so darn cute! :)

very festive shot! (because of the border) :)

@lynnmwatson Thanks Lynn, I'll be watching for your deer shots....I never have any luck with them. Everytime I get close they take off running!

@ellida @15johnpatrick @marja @geertje @maggie2 @girlie @molizard @digitalrn You guys are just the best....you're making me blush! :) Actually I had little to do with this....I had a very cooperative model for this shot! :)

@barbsmith Thank you Barb! Yes, I used Picnik....they have several holiday frames available! I absolutely love Picnik! I do most of my editing in Lightroom 3 but Picnik is just awesome for those little extra touches and it's soooo easy to use! If you haven't used it you should really try it.

@timandelke Thank you so much for all the lovely comments you've left for me since I began this project. I really love reading all of them! :)

I really like this shot. The woodpecker looks great but I am also impressed with the realistic color of the birch. Getting all of the whites right is a challenge.

Love it!

Wonderful shot!

Such a wonderful picture. They are usually so busy feeding at my feeders that it's hard to get a "face" shot. Great job, and I love the focus on him too.

Beautiful bird. I really like the framing. It makes a very nice winter scene.
December 17th, 2010
Cute little guy...he does look a bit ruffled, though!! Love your border of snowflakes around the edges...
December 17th, 2010
Great capture! I just simply love bird shots and with this one framed the way it is -is just fantastic!

Absolutely Georgous.

Great shot of this little woodpecker. I especially like your snowflake border you added. I can't seem to get any good shots of these guys.
