Fisk Quarry Preserve by bmaddock

Fisk Quarry Preserve

Fisk Quarry Preserve was previously a limestone quarry, which provided building materials to (among other projects) the Brooklyn Bridge in NY. The quarry sits on the Chasy Reef Formation, a 450million+ year old fossil reef that extends from Tennessee to Quebec. Fossils are evident everywhere in the quarry, but visitors frequently surround them with small stones to make them easier to find for others.
a very nice capture of textures. and the colour palette is beautiful.

Interesting to know that others have arranged the extra rocks around the fossil. I would've just assumed those were there by chance. Love the blue tones in this image.
