Still catching up on my shots from a week back home in Germany.
Spent a wonderful afternoon in Nuremberg with my parents. The last snow flurries stopped falling and the sun was fighting its way through as we made our way up to the imperial castle. The view from the castle is always special but the light that afternoon was just incredible.
Most of the centre within the city walls was heavily destroyed during WW II. Nuremberg was where Hitler held his big rallies and marches. This, amongst other things, made it into a prime target for the allied forces. Most of Nuremberg including the church in the foreground was beautifully and sympathetically restored over a long period of time. Looking down on the city it never seizes to amaze me.
