Day 365|The End

So here I am, day 365. Sometimes I still can’t believe I’ve made it. And to think at the start of this project, in my mind I was saying to myself, “A photo a day? This is a piece of cake!” First month into my project, I was not thinking that anymore. I’ve tried things I would never think of if it weren’t for this project. Water crowns, light painting, smoke photography, street photography, astrophotography, and the list goes on. The photos I see on this site everyday have inspired and pushed myself to the limit. My Lightroom and Photoshop skills have also improved dramatically. Tools I’ve been afraid to use seem to come so naturally now I don’t know how I got along without them.

This journey has been somewhat of a rollercoaster journey. There have been an endless number of ups and lows this past year. Some days I’ll feel really inspired and can’t get enough of taking photos, and then there are other days where I don’t even want to look at my camera. Some days everything just clicks, and then there are the days where nothing seems to be working.

However, no matter the mood I was in, there was always one thing to get me through to the next, and that’s all the friends I’ve made through this experience. I wanted to thank every single one of the new friends I’ve made this year, whether you’ve followed me right from day one, or just started following yesterday! Without all the kind and creative support for my photos each day, I’m not sure how I would’ve gotten to the end. It always amazes me that I could be taking photos from my backyard in Melbourne, and with a mouse click, I could be looking at exactly what was happening half way across the world. To think all of us come from different locations, with different experiences and lives, but we are all connected by our passion to take photos!

I can’t finish my project without thanking Ross Scrivener (@Scrivna), for without him, this would not be possible. With such a simple idea and concept, he has been able to bring all of us together to share the things we love.

So what’s next for me you ask? I will be back, that’s for sure! But I'm going to take a well earned break. Like so many that are going into the second year, I think I’ll take on more challenges and test myself even more. For one, I want to venture into film photography. It’s been something I’ve wanted to do since the start of my project but never had the time to. I also want to get myself out there on the street, and try to just capture the moment.

I can’t believe how much I’ve written, and there’s so much more I want to write about, I just wanted to wish everyone who is still on their project, the very best of luck. I’d also like to wish every single one of you a life full of happiness, love and laughter. I’m not going to say goodbye because it means I won’t come back, so I’m just going to say, see you all soon. :)
