Atherton Tablelands by bobfoto

Atherton Tablelands

It was a long and dusty road for the Ice Cream Vandango today, across the highest peak in Queensland, and down through the dry country, the Vandango kept firing! But before I took off, I took this photo.

Sunrise o'er the Tablelands.
best viewed large... yadda yadda yadda

December 9th, 2011
@danig @nattybabe @httpgeffed @geocacheking - Thank you ladies and Mr T. :D

@ulpiphotos - hope you are wearing a hat, the sun was pretty fierce later on in the day!

@laceyjogautreau - Why thank you Miss. #;0)

@michaelelliott - Thanks Michael!

@gypsylady - and the bonus? It was warm sunshine too! (heeheehee - sorry)

@lorihiro - Why thank you Ms Lorihiro!

@brumbe - Thanks for the fave Paula, and the heads-up! I did think about a selfie out in the wilderness, seeing as all the rest seem to be indoors and at night.

@lmasinton - the beauty of the 8mm lens is the 180º perspective... but it can distort the edges a little as you can see the slight bend in the road and the horizon.

@hillcrest @flamez @stepheesue - thanks ladies :)

@sebella - thanks for the fave Sebella :)

@buttercup - Corn. They grow quite a bit of corn in the tablelands, and coffee, and MANGOES!
December 9th, 2011
well now i absolutely request a sunny selfie outside with the vandango
December 9th, 2011
@brumbe - the Vandango is camera shy...
December 9th, 2011
Nice long view, a fair dinkum back of Bourke. You must burn through many liters of petrol.
December 9th, 2011
Gorgeous landscape! I would love to travel this road someday!
December 9th, 2011
CK
Cool - can't wait to hit the road ourselves in our coffee vandango!! If this greynish continues we'll head north for some sunshine:-)
December 10th, 2011
Wow! I love this and want to be there!
December 10th, 2011
@robv - The Back o' Bourke is drier then this Rob! And the Ice Cream Vandango is a diesel machine, easier on the consumption!

@cjwhite - It is a pretty part of the country Carolyn :)

@clarek - feeling somewhat Nomadic?

@moirab - Thanks Moira, I am sure you would enjoy a trip to North Queensland!!!
December 10th, 2011

December 10th, 2011
Oh my goodness, I want to walk into that photo.....okay....here goes......
December 10th, 2011
Jason< i have great faith in land healing itself... over time and with patience.. I dont kno whow interested you are in ecology ( I dont know a huge amount about it, just a few things) But Easter Island is always interesting to readabout. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Easter_Island
December 10th, 2011
@redwax66 - mind your head now Ms Holly, we don't want you bumpin' your brain bucket on the monitor eh?
December 10th, 2011
@lbmcshutter - Your current Roadtrip has left me homesick and inspired to head south again one day... But it would be cool if you were to head north next time!
December 10th, 2011
@michelleyoung - What an interesting place that would be to visit... especially with a camera!
December 10th, 2011
@bobfoto where was home that you experience the homesickness for? Where did you swim with the great white (unintentionally)?
December 11th, 2011
@lbmcshutter - The Great White was at a busy and packed Glenelg Beach. The Beach was soon deserted after the Shark made his appearance. And I grew up in Adelaide, but know my way around many of the backroads of South Australia...
December 11th, 2011
The green is just so beautiful, especially viewed large. Yadda yadda yadda.
December 13th, 2011
The sky makes it look almost like a painting! Love the colours and all that jazz :-)
December 13th, 2011
@aj1268 - I like the large lumpy clods when viewed large... yadda yadda yadda.
December 13th, 2011
@amz87 - Oh it is so weird the tricks your eyes play on you.... I read that as an "i" and not an "a" in jazz.... oh dear!
December 13th, 2011
December 14th, 2011
Ahhh...one of my favourite places in Australia. Instant fav. You've captured the vastness of up there, even though it's cloaked in humidity. Gorgeous wide angle.
December 14th, 2011
@buggirl - Oh Kirsti, it was heavy with humidity this particular morning, but I do love it that it actually cools down at night time up there!
December 14th, 2011
FAV!!
December 16th, 2011
@cmuir1963 - Oh thank you thank you thank you Cindy :D
