While walking the streets of Kerema while our Balus was off doing a delivery of sorts, I started asking the locals if I could take their photograph. This young couple happily obliged.
I love so much about this photo, the pop of her red umbrella and the fact her umbrella has ears and eyes. Her smile is gorgeous and I really like how he is holding her shoes for her.
Oh and Election campaign posters in the background, looking like criminals rather then politicians...
In modern election news, as I type, I can hear campaigning going on outside in the streets. It is only 6:30am and they have already started for the day. Kinda glad I have a week back in Australia.
I love this. "Candidtes? Criminals? What's the difference?" LOL They really look behind bars in this shot too which adds to the criminal effect. I love how she is looking at him so giddy and happy and like she is running the show! And he looks a bit worried...haha Get used to it kid!
You've summed up everything I love about this plus that she's holding it upside down... very recognizable! Kids are the same all over the world ;-) Fav
Just kids being kids love having their picture taken,At least the politicians are in the right place behind bars they all lie through their back teeth smile and hold the babys while canvasing for your vote then watch out when they get in power.
@robv - I saw a few of these umbrellas in PNG, but even higher in the cute status were the shoes that had a little squeaky squeaky in the heel. The little girls loved them!
@tonydebont@hobgoblinwychwo - Thanks Guys and in 2007, one of the politicians that won his seat was incarcerated in Prison at the time of voting, and still was voted in! Goes to show the quality of the other candidates???
@michelleyoung @gerry @elke - Oh thank you thank you thank you!
