Mi lukim daun na kisim piksa lo tupela guides antap lo Imita Ridge

Ok in my description, I call these two chaps "guides" when in actual fact, I had already been to the top of this ridge on a few occasions and these two lads, well it was their first time. That's why I am on top taking a photo of them below.

This kinda shows how steep Imita Ridge is just at the top. The scary thing is that Imita is just a drop in the ocean compared to the remaining climbs along the Kokoda Track. Good thing today was just a hit out.

It was always funny to do Imita as a day trip because trekkers fully loaded would walk towards us and we would be carrying stuff all and laughing and carrying on and taking photos and the trekkers (often on their last day or second last day) woud look exhausted and flabbergasted that we were travelling so light!

We would lead them on by asking "How far was it to Kokoda?" full well knowing it was 8 days away, but leading the tired and weary into believing we were well under prepared.

Later in the afternoon, when we were on out return journey we would find them camped 45 minutes from the end of the 96km track and say that our cars and cold beers were just up the top of the last hill and a hot shower and warm bed was only 1 hour after that!

They didn't look very happy... poor buggers.

Photo taken 2 August 2008. Oh, just noticed, the wonderful world of Bougainville is next...
Ive heard about that wicked Kokoda Track and it must be a devil! You are a devil too for teasing them like that! lol
