Oh I am behind eh? Shitty internet connection at the top of Australia.... but I am now a few days in the Torres Strait (a collection of about 133 island between Australia and Papua New Guinea, with about 30 habited). Least they have internets.
Hey I found this red grasshopper years ago in PNG and after taking his photo, I placed him on a green leaf to see if he would change his colour.
Cute guy - how big was he?!
I have decided that in Oz / PNG insects sit around a lot more. I saw a dragonfly whizzing around the garden yesterday and could barely work out what colour he was, never mind get a photo of him sitting still. I sometimes hear grasshoppers.....
I was on my phone it only gets so big there.... :p
I suppose it is a foot, but still like the idea that it's a tongue or straw and he's sucking the color out of the leaf to camouflage himself from the evil garden gnome

@maggiemae - Yup, it sure did... ;)
@ozziehoffy - Very.
@tonydebont - Cheers Tony, thanks!
@johnnyfrs - indeed.
@orangecrush - I kinda wished I sat around and watched in on a green leaf?
@kandernob - I've seen plenty of green ones!
@kamb - I can't recall how I exactly noticed him in the first place...
@bella_ss - Thanks Sheralee and welcome back. You have been missed!
@ptowncook - His little red jacket eh?
@angeliquenordal - Very well camouflaged eh?
@angeliquenordal - eh? It is a Queensland vernacular applied to the end of every sentence... almost as if every thing we say is a question... eh?
His back end is a lot shorter than the ones we have here.
@hellcat - Magnifying Glass?
