Yellow-faced Myna by bobfoto

Yellow-faced Myna

These guys are pretty cool, hang out in flocks just like the Indian Mynas we get down here, but these guys are not as gregarious.

But check out the toes!

Photo taken 8 December 2007.
he looks quite haughty, or at least taken aback someone is pointing a camera at him

What a stunning bird and just look at those feet - amazing. Is it much the same size as the Noisy Myna or bigger, it looks huge.

I remember the pet shop in the town I grew up in had a Myna Bird who would "talk" to you. It absolutely fascinated me! Great shot!

Nicely color coordinated bird. I like the soft green framing.
December 11th, 2012
@bobfoto He said simple things like "Hi there!". But it still fascinated me!
December 11th, 2012

The bird life in PNG is incredible!!!
December 15th, 2012
@turning_40 - bird-nerd tourism is certainly a draw card for PNG.

He has the same cheeky look of an ordinary black myna. Our cat in Samoa used to bait the mynas that lived in the tree by our bedroom window at 6am every morning to create enough of a ruckus that one of us got up. I'm not sure she would have been so brave if theyd looked like this one!
December 16th, 2012
@palusami - So your cat knew to make the ruckus so she would get some breakfast and attention???
December 16th, 2012
Very haughty! Wouldn't mess with those toes!!
December 28th, 2012
@filsie65 - there's that haughty word again!
