Spida by bobfoto

Spida

Just a crazy big Huntsman spider walking across the tiles one day.

Wow the year is almost over... my year 2 project is almost at its end. Oh well oh well.

Photo taken 24 December 2007.
bbbrrrrrr........I'm not to keen on spiders, sorry.

It's a bit creepy for me too, but I'd probably push the "eww factor" aside and take a few shots of him too.

Good spider shot. These bigger sized spiders give me the willies.

Great shot. Glad it was on your tiles and not mine.

Oh he looks like an interesting character :)
Two years... I'm a few days behind you... Two whole years lol ... Only a few would understand what that feels like :)

Looks just like one I photographed in Gambia on the outside of our mosquito net in our hut in Gambia. My husband hates spiders so I shook it off but didn't tell him. He woke in the morning to find it on the pillow an inch from my face. Terror overcame valour & he scrambled over me to get out of the bed. His panic woke me & sent the poor spider spiralling round the inside of the mosquito net until I shook it out again. After that he made sure the net was tucked round the bed every night.

@camerada - oh they're okay... except for when they run really fast!

@olivetreeann - it is amazing what we raise our lenses for.

@daisy - I don't mind the slow moving ones...

@kjarn - he was released outside... well escorted outside.

@swilde - sure was.

@grammyn - sure am. Have a plan for 2013.

@joluise - oh he was kinda harmless.

@houdiniem - incy wincy spider!

@sangwann - I'm sure a strong guy like you Dione would be able to handle a little spider like this?

@michelleyoung - I think the group of us that started in Jan 2011 have continued on quite well.

@agentzuckerguss - Katia, a conversation that you and I had is part of my inspiration for my Year 3 project. I had an idea, but you said something that turned on a light inside my head. Thank you and will see you in January. #:0)

@fjh - Oh your poor hubby would have been terrified! Thanks for sharing the story. One time camping in Central Australia in the middle of a Native Rat plague and during the night we would see rats crawling over the top of our tent. It was good fun poking them in the belly and knocking them off! :D

Can't wait! ;~}

@bobfoto sounds awesome. We still have puncture marks in our tent from when I pinged the canvas to frighten away a polecat but instead of running away the little bugger attacked the tent!
December 28th, 2012
@fjh - hahahaha! Poor Polecat!
December 28th, 2012
Nice close up of it. I don't like spiders

@abhijit - there safe when someone else is taking the shot eh?
December 28th, 2012
Tell me this was an extreme close-up taken with a macro tube and enormous macro lens.....??!!
December 28th, 2012
@filsie65 - taken with my kit lens 150mm telephoto.

*shudders* ... the huntsmen in my house are fatter than that one and darker... ugh ugh ugh to all. Mind you, this is like a train wreck for me... shudder and cringe looking but I have to look. Blah... ok, changing to a different pic now!!
December 30th, 2012
Cool! Great shot!
December 30th, 2012
@monkeykid - Thanks Therese :)

@ozziehoffy - Sorry Cassandra, I'm not a big fan about how fast they can run!
December 30th, 2012
I'd die if I saw this!!!
December 30th, 2012
@espyetta - I'd think you'd fire off one or two shots first...
