I have known Ta'hita for some time now, but I have no idea how to spell her name. My attempts of Motu fall on deaf ears because she knows a different language. But she is a gorgeous woman and has seen a world of change unlike anything I can imagine.
We laughed together.
Not understanding anything, but smiles and warm eyes are enough.
I love how her toes are painted in a colour that match her thongs (flip flops).
She loves her great grandson, he came by and had a chat and she smiled with her mouth and eyes and he held onto her for a while on her shoulder. He is a tall lad and a good kid.
I might have to ask if I can bring my DSLR next time.... she deserves some portraiture time.
Lovely. The blue pedicure pops right out. She looks very huggable and you described perfectly the interaction with her grandson. Your words gave a great visual.
Lovely image. I would love to see some more portraits of this lady. I know that looks are deceptive, but she has a wise face and maybe a sense of humour too. If you could find a way of talking to her she might have some stories to tell. If she has a great-grandson what will she be? 65 - 80?
Oh the stories that could be told from her and that she has seen and experienced. What an amazing person to know and get to spend time with even without verbal communication.
@riverlandphotos - Thanks Mac, she rarely wears clothes, which is one of the reasons why I have never popped out the camera before, but she looks frail and strong at the same time. Maybe I will hug her one day?
@dandolo - Her son-in-law is close to 60, and I would say his wife would be just 50 perhaps. I would need to ask Rose if she was the first born or last born.
@geocacheking - when her Great Grandson spoke to her, he spoke in a language I should have known, but it sounded foreign to me... I was intrigued, I must chat more with the young lad. Will probably embarrass
myself but heh? Where's the harm?
a loving and warm face. It is expressions like this I see in older women that remind me so much of my grandma who hasn't been around in years and who I miss. Beautiful. And I LOVE the blue sandals and nails!
@bobfoto she passed away when I was quite young. She had Alzheimer's really bad and soon did not know any of her own family. Horrible disease. But, when I do think of her I always think of her warm eyes and kind smile...just like this lady. And I always hear her silly little old lady giggle :) See this shot brought back nice memories don't worry :)
What an amazing face with a really nice smile coming from decorations that don't smile at all. Yes, she deserves more portrait time, especially if you can get her to a more pleasant backdrop.
does she have henna on her legs?
@glendq - Henna? Something a little more permanent... she was tattooed as a young girl.
@swilde - I will.
@alia_801 - they do.
@natr - Totally PNG.
@houdiniem - She does. Normally she just hangs around without clothing....
@pamknowler - That they are!

@carolmw - She is a lovely lady indeed.
@lynnb @daisy @kittikat - Thanks ladies. :D
