Betel Nut and Bucket Hats at Boerabada

The cricket team at Boera has scored some new "Gray Nicolls" floppy white hats. This to me, was cricket in the 70s. Growing up in Australia, the flannelette white hat was the duck's nuts and every boy wanted a Gray Nicolls bat.

I was so envious of this lady's bucket hat, so I took her photo.

Twice.

Oh and she is selling the nefarious nut and some cigarettes. Whilst watching the cricket.

Photo taken yesterday at Boera.
I really like the photo, but the phrase "was the duck's nuts" had me giggling maniacally! Can't think of a time when I'll ever use it, but you never know . . . :)

@juliedduncan - whenever something is super duper or simply the best, then you can use the phrase "the duck's nuts" to emphasise just how cool it is. Try it next time you have a really good ice-cream... that ice-cream is the duck's nuts!

@agima - they all were chewing...

@swilde - oh she's a sweetie!

@httpgeffed - Thanks.

@olivetreeann - so was I!

@bobfoto Ha ha! Ok, I'll try it, Jason! Or, maybe I'll use the slightly more appropriate, "This is the bee's knees" or "This is the cat's meow". Although, they just don't have the same oomph as "the duck's nuts". Bah ha ha ha! ;)

@bobfoto You could also say, "It's the cat's pajamas!" :)

@juliedduncan - I've seen a cat in a sharksuit riding a vacuum cleaner, but never in pjs!
