Pale tree trunks

Some rather pleasing pale tree trunks as we walk around Ickworth Park.

Slept OK mainly but we were awoken by someone shouting again at 6.30-ish - some remnant of yesterday's shenanigans looks like.

Dozed a bit more but got up at 8 to get ready for breakfast. OK it was - usual cereal, fruit etc then egg, tomatoes, mushrooms and toast. We ummed and aahed about what to do with the day. Decided to go to Ickworth Park as we'd done this time last year.

Weather was a little up and down - overcast mainly and quite blustery at times, threatening rain that thankfully never came. We decided to leave the house again and do another little walk around the grounds - choosing to walk in the opposite direction to which we'd walked last time - up towards the monument.

Walked through some lovely wooded bits - some very ancient woodland in fact. There were sheep grazing in the fields, lots of old oak trees, and plenty of autumn fruit coming out - haws, elder and a few blackberries, but they were all a bit disappointing.

Ended up back at the cafe where we shared a pizza and quiche. Not too bad a queue when we arrived which was good news. Then had a quick look round the gift shop and the bookshop - and of course by then we needed more sustenance - so stopped off at the little tea shack by the car park and had the most excellent cherry bakewell scone with a rose lemonade for me.

Then drove back - no problems - and tried to get sorted for a full week of work from tomorrow, boo.

Poldark starts again this evening - jolly wheeze.
