First Among Sequels

Second book in a row in Jasper Fforde's Bookworld series - the exploits of literary detective Thursday Next. This was a very good one in the series - lots of interesting elements added to the hidden universe of Bookworld and the parallel real world of Swindon in Wessex.

Woke up to the most miserable smattering of snow ever compared to our expectations from the pessimistic heavy snow all night Met Office forecast. Good because meant poor people having to travel wouldn't be so affected. But felt a bit sad that we'd postponed our walk as the trains were all running fine.

However, as had thought yesterday - for the best with Dave really feeling the lurgy hit now. He downed a Lemsip and basically mooched around in his nightwear and cosy hat all day.

Managed to play a bit of music and finish my book too which was very luxurious - never get a chance to do too much reading at once. And watched a Jazz episode - good to watch and not fall asleep.

Started snowing again late afternoon, but don't think it will amount to much. Warming up later in the week thank goodness.

Chilli salmon and noodles later and Our Man in Havana off the Tivo box.

I've heard of him but since I have a pile of books taller than my own height that I'm working my way through I shall refrain from buying yet more for the time being!! xx
