Dancing to Télamuré

A fabulous little band playing tarantella roots from southern Italy at St John's Music Hall this evening.

Busy day trying to get another campaign done and dusted. Some tricksiness with sorting out images for it. Ended up not doing my cardio session which was naughty but really needed a quiet lunch break to calm things down.

Had the departmental remembrance service this morning also which was very moving.

Anna contacted me early on to say she was thinking of coming down for the gig this evening as she's playing at the Early Music Festival this weekend. Great I thought and booked her one of the cheap ticket offers.

Later on though we found unfortunately that Andy Cutting, doing support, wasn't going to make it due to family circumstances. Decided to still go anyway as the band sounded good.

Got home 5.30ish and Dave and I had a quick veggie burger in pitta before running out into the rainy evening to catch the bus to Leytonstone - one of those little bumpy ones that go all around the houses.

Got to the venue at 7ish where Anna had already bagsied a pew at the front. Lovely evening, catching up with gossip, some red wine and prosecco and some great music from the band - including amazing percussion on an array of large tambourines, huge sheep-like bagpipes with double chanters and double flute-like instruments too. And the usual southern Italian singing.

Some people had been bopping about at the sides for a while but during the last number they all converged to the front for a last fling. Much fun.

Bus back took no time at all and we were home in good time for tea and chocolate.
