White boots

On the platform at Pimlico station.

Drizzly weather for fireworks night and more rain expected later. Last day of mayhem at work with Parliament finally dissolving tomorrow - one of the consultations was officially pulled but the other one was still on. Our intern sorted it out for us.

Personal training session at lunchtime then worked a bit later as a speech came in that needed publishing before the start of radio silence at midnight.

Hung about a bit doing odd jobs after that hoping the other news story that needed to go up before midnight would be ready as I was on duty cover so would have to do it anyway. Eventually I gave up and left.

At home, found Dave in bed with a bit of a headache. F was out watching Chelsea play.
I cooked up the pizza with halloumi and salad, and we watched Father Ted - I logged into the work laptop to keep an eye on emails about the story.

Ended up being lots of to-ing and fro-ing between advisers, policy team, press office, the propriety and ethics people and private secretaries all arguing about specific wording and meanings. Stayed up watching the emails as the clock went past 11. To try and help I posted up draft wording and sat waiting to hit the publish button and it all got very stressful as midnight approached. And in the end it was all too late and it didn't go, missing final sign off by minutes.

Bit of a late one to bed.

What do you do for a living? I’ve tried to work it out reading your daily write ups but I’m completely stumped
