Paddleboarding by boxplayer

On the River Lea - we have friends that do this - fun apparently.

Felt almost like waking up in a Landmark Trust place this morning - the smell reminiscent of a wood fire gone cold in the night.

A restless night having overeaten last night. Toast and the Guardian quiz in bed. Cycled to Walthamstow marshes then onto Hackney marshes. The footballers were back. Looped back via the towpath going all the way up to Ferry Lane - lots of beautiful houseboats, their owners chilling on board in the sunshine.
Dave was running late when I got back and basically still naked from his shower with 4 mins to go before his guitar class. Taken by Jenn Butterworth this time - she was very good apparently. While he was doing that, I prepared a salad lunch and we ate outside after.

My melodeon class after doing a new tune as well as last week's Abbots Bromley tune, Lord Hill's Quickstep, a very jolly one. Finished the afternoon finally getting up to date with all my photos. A bit of reading, a bit of melodeon practice then off next door.

A was off at a party (didn't come back till very late, what a stop-out) so we played Mölkky - giving up when it got too dark - ate too many nibbles, ate some amazing chilli, and drank 2 bottles of bubbly between us plus 2 glasses of red wine and a whisky. Luckily I didn't go for a second one as I think I'd have got unwell.

J and Z got their fire pit out - and it got going really well. Was so cosy, we kept almost leaving but then J would put on another log. Home 11.30ish.

The footballers are back
