The old city farm now closed as it didn't make enough to survive. An overcast morning made things look sadder. Sun emerged a bit later in the day.
Dave was working here today strimming the overgrown grassy bits so I went with him in the car to help him negotiate the one ways and school streets. Left him to travel into the office.
In flat window news, got a message from the café next door to the flat to say that the scaffolding was preventing them from closing their canopy. When the window man went round, turns out their canopy had been closed when the scaffolding was erected but they'd since opened it and a part of it was stopping them from putting it back - he didn't have much sympathy.
3 good things
1. Window man seems sensible and responsive.
2. An episode of the Cleaner and Springwatch this evening - gorgeous longtailed tits - before I more or less passed out, so tired worrying all the time.
3. A cheeky midweek fish and chips supper.
People are so unforgiving these days. Yes, it's a slight inconvenience but what else is the neighbour supposed to do when getting their windows done?
Which city farm is this one? Shame didn't survive.
@blightygal Brooks Farm in Leyton. Yes I know and it's a health and safety issue too, any time a window pane could have fallen out on one of their customers and they've been so obstructive!
How distressing that the farm is having to close down. Truly a shame. I like your POV for the farm and the gate - the gate gives a good impression of the farm.
Sad to see the farm go. I tried watching Springwatch last week whilst eating my tea but within five minutes a kestrel was feeding her chuck to it’s siblings and a jay had scoffed all the wren chicks. Quite put me off my food!
