London Olympics 2012 10 years on - revisiting photos from the time.
Flag waving galore - and an inflatable Olympic torch thrown in as well at the 2012 Last Night of the Proms at the Royal Albert Hall. Rather sadly, this year's Last Night was cancelled in out of respect for the Queen's death.
What a fun night this turned out to be. I'd always pooh-poohed the Last Night as a bit of nonsense and not a night of proper music, but in the spring of 2012 I said to Dave that we ought to at least try and go one year - you have to buy a certain number of concert tickets and then enter a ballot to be able to buy tickets. Didn't think I'd get lucky so quickly, but we did and for the special year of 2012 when everyone was hyped up with TeamGB's Olympic successes.
The programme that year featured the radiant Nicola Benedetti on violin and all the singalong jolly stuff you've come to expect. And to cap it all, some of the TeamGB athletes came on stage to take an ovation - that was totally unexpected and totally exciting - still have no idea who they actually were.
My diary notes for the day go on to describe how, after, we got the tube to Aldgate East to check out the Beigel Bake in Brick Lane, famed 24-hour bagel hangout and scene of the best bagel and stewed cup of tea I've ever had negotiating hordes of clubbers, hen parties, and general revellers hogging the streets.
