Quite an old book this, giving an overview of some of the major forested areas of Britain. A fair bit of history talking about forest in its wider definition as an area that was usually reserved for hunting by the king. How these areas were governed and managed has usually affected how much forest we now have and how our modern forests are managed.
Was a bit old though and not the most enthrallinng of reads, though interesting in parts.
