Well, back again for 2017! It's been a crazy ride, which you can read about here ( http://www.canadutch.nl/wordpress/archives/15893 ) but needless to say, there have been some BIG changes. We had big plans that didn't turn out the way we expected, but we managed to turn it around. We are now starting over in France! We have been here since September 2016 and I wish I'd started the project then, to document our new start but this works too!

January 1st, 2017 will be the start of my 2017 Life in France project!

I don't have any of the gear listed below anymore.

This is what I will be using now:

Samsung Galaxy S7 (I suspect most will be made using this)
Sony A5000

Third time's a charm, right?! :)

**************** Super old Info on previous projects *****************

Canadian crafting, pet loving, shutterbug living in the Netherlands with my Dutch husband after almost 17 years in the Netherlands.

Tried 365 projects in the past and never made it farther than a little over 100 days. In 2013 I decided to try again, but with a challenge for myself - a year of self portraits. I chose to do this because I was hoping that it will help me gain confidence and self acceptance through seeing photos of myself.

In the past 2 years I have lost 140 lbs and it has been an incredible journey, but sometimes difficult in regards to self image. Sometimes I hardly recognize myself and I still have a terrible habit of picking out all of the bad things about myself in photos.

I didn't finish that full year of self portraits, but I still consider it a success... because I got exactly what I hoped to get out of it. It helped enormously with my self-esteem and went a long way in helping me get used to this 'new me' I see in the mirror every day.

At the beginning of March 2013 I decided to start a second 365 project so that I could do something other than selfies each day. I didn't complete that project either. Two at once was silly.

So, now I'm giving it a go again in 2014! It will consist of whatever I feel like at the time. I'm not setting any rules for myself and will take it day by day and see how it goes. Maybe this will be the year I finally complete a 365 project? We'll see!

My photos are all taken with one of four cameras, depending on where I am and what I'm doing:
Sony A300 (DSLR)
Casio Exilim EX-Z1080 (P&S)
Casio Exilim EX-H15 (P&S)
Samsung Galaxy Note (Mobile)

It is very rare that I will ever post a photo straight out of the camera, as I'm using this project as a combined learning method, to learn more about Photoshop and my cameras at the same time. So yes (in case it isn't obvious) my photos are often pretty heavily edited!
